Malcolm Turnbull said today that Kevin Rudd "lacked the guts to make tough decisions." So I've applied to the Australian Sex Party to be their candidate for the next election. This may seem like a non sequitur but I see this as a real opportunity. If the current government truly is as gutless as the last one (this one can't or won't do anything while the last only wanted to get millions of Australians over the pork barrel for a quick buck), its an opportunity for agents of chaos... er, change, to get while the goings good.

When I come to power I will laugh at them all, then sign said laughter into legislation legalising all the things everyone's prejudices tell them to hate, my own included.

Especially these charities who are currently preparing to tighten their belts as economic crisis sets in. Some are already down over half a million dollars on last year's donations and I say "Good." Screw the corporate leeches on society. You want to help someone? Well stretch out your hand in compassion to the poor and downtrodden you're always talking about, show these people some real human kindness in the true christian tradition instead of paying lip service to same in order to collect a paycheck.

Arguments to counter this bleak outlook rely on something called the "nirvana fallacy". Society is always falling apart as LEAST as fast as it can be created. This is all there is, there is nothing else, and there will always be those people who lack the will or the ability to thrive. There are also those who want to tear it all down to see what happens.
