Being a recent convert to rave culture, this accurately describes my life for the last several weeks... *sigh*
To start with... cookievals annoy me. In fact, they annoy me so much that I've decided never to use them again, ever. The same goes for session values which use any sort of hashing function.
I'm getting much better at designing and maintaining dynamic websites but now I have to contend with differing languages.
Still I'm being paid a pittance. I'm considering mentioning something like this next time I'm asked on the phone: "Yes, the templates are ready for multiple languages. All you have to do is pay me $150 per language and I'll add them no problem." Or perhaps more to do with templates? *heh* Changing site layouts is easy--It can be done in 3 steps:
- Step 1. Imagine a layout.
- Step 2. Hire me.
- Step 3. Pay me.
In between all this, there's considerations of a car... I think I've gotten to a point where one would be incredibly useful and save me a lot of bother with getting to places which take about an hour. Especially if I'm considering staying in Brisbane (and why shouldn't I, really? aside from lots of other places offering better standards of living, I still don't have that arts degree with the major in clinical psychology which makes me valuble worldwide as an employable asset). Even so its a big decision, not to mention a large investment.
Financial advice? *argh* I just remembered, I've forgotten to email people, and group certificates are coming up soon, and I'm supposed to be making a trip to Sydney. Possibly even getting married. *laugh* Now
that would be a sight to see.
I must go and visit
Larcin and
Crossfire in Sydney and also all the
Ikko gang in Canberra if its at all possible.
I missed the
ANU Bush Week Scavenger Hunt, for which I am profoundly sorry as well as being a pathetic human being. Although I most likely missed out on being in a car which hit a kangaroo, since unfortunately Arne had an accident which he mentioned in an SMS recently.
As I mentioned above I'm a recent convert to rave culture, which of course means that I'm going to a lot of them; and I'm incredibly impressed. Probably moreso since I don't have any sort of history of heart or respiratory dysfunction.
Actually going off on a tangent here, has anyone thought that the
Advent*jah team website seriously needs a redesign; something along the lines of
not using stupid flash would be a very good start. The site hasn't been updated in ages, becasue of the interference of stupid flash movies, its all very rah and annoying with not a lot of substance and because of its inaccessibility and completely unnavigabilty to non-flash people (which is usually anyone with any freaking sense) and people browsing on slower computers (or the ever unfortunates with macintoshes) its really completely unuseful even as an events calender; which I'd assume would be the main purpose of the site anyway.
Anyway getting back on track, even if the people they commission to design websites aren't don't possess a level of insight succinct enough to recognise this; the Advent*Jah team can definitely do an incredible job of putting on raves! Time Tunnel was my first Brisbane rave, and I just... enjoyed it so much... *blinks* It was so incredible/wondeful/excellent/beautiful that there's not really a good enough word to describe it. Amazing what visions of pulchritude can arise from a memory of serotonergic substance abuse I suppose.
More on this later.
Hamish had better get back to me so that I can bother him for more source code.
I can't remember Orinoco's website. Ach. I be scottich now, aye. *blee*
Since I've just been rather ill as well, I think I'm getting over some sort of CMV type of virii, which has been particularly nasty, and made me come up in these ugly red spots over all the skin covering my joints (which I presume are where my lymph nodes are). The spots have faded into a dull and painful memory thankfully but I am still not overly well.
Put this entry down to feebled and fevered ravings. Exit stage left!
