I have a brilliant idea for any subsequent seasons of the so-called 'reality' show "Big Brother" although it will probably only get to air by about 2015 due to the lack of progress in the field of medical technology.
Yes, the medical field; specifcally transplants.
I propose that in order to apply to get on the show the prospective 'reality' TV contestant will need to show willing by donating their hands (via transplant, now you're getting the idea!) to someone in need of hands. This way do-gooder bleeding hearts who want to be on the show can know they are helping the world by giving some poor little kid who's lost their hands and 1/2 a leg playing in a minefield in southern Cambodia some much-needed manipulatory digits.
Now here's where it gets interesting...
Once the handless contestants are on the show, the people who they've donated their hands to get 10,000 votes to every caller, that way we'll see if generosity is its own reward! Votes may be lost, counted, or the SMS system you're voting on may not even exist except to spam your phone with useless advertising, but at least society will have gleaned a valuable knowledge about essentially not giving a crap about people who are willing to put themselves acting like idiots on TV ("Look at me, I'm 19 and drinking goon in a spa bath! Give me a sitcom and several spots on Good Morning Australia and interviews with top talk show personalities! Oh wait, the producer says I need to get my clothes off before anything else, I just wonder why I had to do that before in their hotel room...")
The prize for this proposed show should be an all-expenses paid trip to France to have the hands of a condemned criminal transplanted back onto their wrist-stumps. This in itself would probably make fascinating reality TV for anyone who has actually watched more than 30 seconds of this mind-numbing, hackneyed, lazy, plot-devoid rubbish networks only put to air presumably because they don't have to pay scriptwriters.
