To the Beautiful and the Wise;
Jul. 25th, 2001 10:20 amThe mirror always lies...
I believe I should attempt to learn to read tabulature. Other than that I have to read more books.
To that end, I'd like to mention that Frank Herbert's Dune, which itself raised the bar for science fiction (no matter what Dune Messiah did to lower it back down, Dune was fantastic, and Children of Dune - the third in the series - raised it again), Heinlein's Starship Troopers (which, thankfully, was nothing like the spaghetti science fiction film that bears its name), Stephen R. Donaldson's The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant and his Gap series (Donaldson is one of the world's best fantasy authors still living, and the Gap is absolutely fantastically well-written).
I must read more Neal Stevenson though, getting thePetey to read Snow Crash would be cool and I myself need to read Zodiac and finish off the Cryptonomicon.
We're going to a place tomorrow where there are reclining seats and alcohol in order to watch the Final Fantasy movie. I'm most impressed, especially as it only cost us $13.50--hooray! I'm well looking forward to it. :)
