A car is a bad place for an all-out sleep, but a good place to begin rest and recovery from the trip to the faraway places you've been, a decompression chamber between Here and There. Though a car is not the ideal place really to think, to reassess or reevaluate things, it is a great place to have the illusion of doing so, and often the illusion will suffice.
Add to that, as soon as I stepped out of it after driving and thinking I had a splitting headache... :(

Also, its just as hard to sleep afterwards....
Knowledge is the best eraser in the world for disharmony, distrust, despair, and the endless physical deficiencies humans are subject to.
But I burnt with indignation and grief; I could think of nothing else. All night long I had only snatches of sleep, waking up perpetually to the sense of a great shock and pain.
When action grows unprofitable, gather information; when information grows unprofitable, sleep. The repose of sleep refreshes only the body. It rarely sets the mind at rest.
Intellectually I know that the more connections lovers make, not just between their bodies, but between their minds, hearts, and souls, the more it strengthens the fabric of a relationship, and the more real moments they will experience together. Above all love is the gift of ones self. The only victory over love is flight. I hope it never wins. I hope I'm not blind.
Trying to write this down confronts the mucky nature of English. That hysterical region of language making words excessive and impoverished at once. *sigh*
